What Is Magic: The Gathering?
Magic: The Gathering (MTG) is the world’s first collectible trading card game, created by Wizards of the Coast in 1993. It has over 50 million players across 150+ countries. Players become planeswalkers, powerful mages who summon creatures, cast spells, and use strategy to reduce their opponent’s life total to zero.
How It Works
Each player builds a deck of at least 60 cards, containing a mix of lands (which produce mana) and spells (creatures, sorceries, instants, enchantments, artifacts, and planeswalkers). Mana, the game’s magical energy, powers everything you play.
A typical turn includes:
